Summer Solstice Celebration

Sunday, June 21 • Millennium Park – Grant Pavilion

Celebrate the longest day of the year with So Hum Yoga Studio at a full-day community wellness gathering honoring movement, nature, and connection.

The Summer Solstice Celebration will bring together yoga, meditation, a scenic 5K walk/run, holistic wellness services, local partners, and space to simply rest and enjoy the beauty of the park. Throughout the day you’ll have opportunities to move your body, explore wellness offerings, connect with community, and celebrate the turning of the season.

This event is designed to be accessible, welcoming, and rooted in the spirit of shared wellbeing.

Tickets start at $45 and go on sale April 15.

Come celebrate the light, the season, and the growing So Hum community.

What to Expect

The day begins gently, with arrival and connection. At 8:30am, we welcome you for race sign-ins and packet pick-ups as the energy starts to build. By 9:00am, we’re in motion—our Solstice 5K invites you to move your body, find your breath, and take in the morning light.

As runners return, the space softens into community. A pancake breakfast will be waiting, along with an open, all-levels yoga class on the lawn—an invitation to stretch, settle, and transition into the heart of the day.

At 10:00am, we gather for one of the most meaningful moments of the celebration: 108 Sun Salutations. This moving meditation will carry us inward and upward, and as the final round closes, we’ll melt seamlessly into savasana with a deeply restorative sound bath.

At noon, So Hum takes the stage to share a few words, recognize our sponsors, and honor the community that made this gathering possible.

From there, the day opens up into a vibrant, choose-your-own experience. A live DJ will carry the rhythm of the afternoon, weaving music through center stage yoga flows and dance sessions.

Come for one piece, or stay for it all. This is a day to move, to rest, to celebrate—and to be together.

As the event grows, offerings may include:
• Meditation and breathwork
• Mini wellness sessions such as massage, reiki, sound healing, and energy work
• Holistic health practitioners and wellness partners
• Nature time, relaxation, and community gathering

Additional offerings and providers will be announced as they are confirmed.

Why the Solstice?

The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year — a moment that cultures around the world have celebrated for centuries as a time of vitality, growth, and connection to the rhythms of nature.

In yoga philosophy, the solstice can be seen as a powerful time to pause, reflect, and honor the light both around us and within us.

This gathering is our way of celebrating that moment together — through movement, community, and shared wellbeing.
