🌿 So Hum Yoga Studio — FAQ
A cozy, spiritual, grounded space for every body.
What should I bring?
Just you. Truly. We have mats, blocks, straps, bolsters, blankets—everything you need for a supported practice. If you love your own mat, bring it along.
What should I wear?
Comfy, stretchy clothes you can move and breathe in. Layers are always a good idea so you stay warm during meditation and savasana.
Are beginners welcome?
Always. All levels are welcome at So Hum. With 12 instructors offering a variety of styles, you’ll find your perfect fit whether you're brand new or returning to your mat.
What styles of yoga do you offer?
We primarily teach Hatha and Vinyasa, with meditation and pranayama woven through every class. Our approach blends the physical, energetic, and spiritual aspects of yoga.
Is this hot yoga?
Nope — we are not a hot yoga studio. But our radiant heated floors offer a gentle, steady warmth that feels incredible, especially during winter.
What is Hot Stone Savasana?
A grounding, deeply restorative final rest. You’ll receive a warm stone in each hand and one on the third eye—helping the body melt, the mind settle, and the spirit soften.
Do you use incense or scents?
Sometimes. Some classes include palo santo, incense, or candlelight to support the mood. If you are sensitive to scents, just let your instructor know.
Is So Hum a spiritual studio?
Yes. We honor yoga as both a physical and spiritual practice. Expect intention, breathwork, moments of stillness, and classes that meet you exactly where you are.
Where are you located?
You’ll find us tucked into a quiet cul-de-sac in a wooded lot in Northeast Grand Rapids, inside the Holistic Health Collective.
📍 End of Beltline Court NE — see the map on our Contact page.
Is So Hum part of the Holistic Health Collective?
We share the same building, but we are not the same entity.
So Hum Yoga Studio is a DBA under Fassler Garden & Yoga, leasing space within The Collective. Marla manages both spaces, but each serves its own purpose.
What about parking?
No stress here—there’s ample, easy, on-site parking just steps from the door.
